Junk removal covers more than most people expect. Our crew shows up, you point, and the load goes. Here is where the lines fall, so you know before you call.
Yes, We Haul It
These are the things we take:
- Old furniture, including mattresses and box springs, couches, chairs, tables and shelving.
- Appliances, including washers, dryers and refrigerators.
- Yard waste: brush, limbs, leaves and outdoor debris.
- Construction debris such as wood, drywall, shingles and scrap metal.
- General household junk, from garage clutter to bags of trash.
- Full cleanout leftovers from estates, rentals and renovations.
Not sure how a specific item counts? See our pages on furniture removal, appliance removal and yard waste removal.
Call Us With Your List
Call us with your list for these:
- Cardboard boxes in large quantities.
- TVs and other electronics.
- Tires.
- Paint cans.
A call or text takes a minute, and the quote is free. If you have a mix of these and regular items, one call sets the whole job.
Hazardous Materials Have Better Places to Go
Hazardous materials are the one category we leave out. Think household chemicals, pesticides, used oil, antifreeze, fuel cylinders, flares and batteries. They need special handling that a standard haul is not set up for.
Local Options for Hazardous Items
You still have good local options for hazardous items.
- Household chemicals and electronics. The Polk County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility at the North Central Landfill takes household chemical and electronic waste from county residents at no additional fee. Businesses are not eligible. Check the county for current hours and limits.
- Paint. The county facility accepts paint, with a limit of 20 gallons a year. Polk County also says latex paint can be dried out and thrown away with household garbage.
- Batteries. The City of Lakeland says lithium-ion batteries do not belong in garbage or recycling carts because they cause fires in trucks and processing centers. The county facility accepts auto and boat batteries.
- Tires. Lakeland residents may place four automobile tires per calendar year at the curb at no charge. Polk County’s curbside program does not collect tires.
- Medication and sharps. Polk County Solid Waste does not accept biohazardous waste, needles or unused or expired medication.
Rules and hours change, so confirm with the City of Lakeland or Polk County before you go.
A Few Things Worth Knowing Before We Arrive
Clear a path to the items if you can, and let us know about stairs or tight spaces. If an appliance is heavy, mention it on the call. If you are cleaning out a loved one’s home, tell us what must stay and what can go, and we will work through it calmly and privately.
Appliances that contain refrigerant deserve a note. Under EPA rules, the final disposer of an appliance is responsible for recovering the refrigerant, which is why refrigerators, freezers and window air conditioners are handled with care.
Not Sure About an Item? Ask First
If you are unsure whether something counts as hazardous, treat it carefully and call before you load it. Keep chemicals in their original containers where possible, and keep damaged batteries away from anything that can burn. A short call saves you a wasted trip and keeps our crew safe.
